Group A Preview: Bhutan vs Nepal

05-Sep-2018

Both the Bhutan and Nepal teams know that three points will help them enormously in their quest to make it out of the group stage. Bhutan lost the opening game 2-0 against home team Bangladesh while Nepal ended up losing all three points after Pakistan's Muhammad Ali scored in the last seconds of the game.

"The loss was frustrating for our team, the management and the players, but I feel we're on the right track," said Bhutan head coach Trevor Morgan.

Nepal skipper Biraj Mararjan is expected to become the most-capped Nepal player of all time on Thursday and his team would definitely want to mark the occasion with a victory.

Nepal would want to improve in the final third given they lost the points against Pakistan despite having 74% possession and 13 more shots (inc. blocks).

"We have two more matches and in football, anything can happen. If we win those, we can reach the semi-final. We have the belief to perform well," said Nepal head coach Bal Gopal Maharjan.
